Tailored Worm Control Schemes Now in Slovak

ESCCAP Slovakia & Czechia has translated two fact sheets containing schemes for individual worm management in dogs and cats. These resources are based on the recently updated seventh edition of Guideline 01: “Worm Control in Dogs and Cats.”

The fact sheets provide veterinary professionals with practical decision-making flow charts that support an evidence-based approach to parasite prevention. Each sheet also includes detailed guidance tables designed to be used alongside the decision trees, helping vets create tailored parasite control programmes for individual animals.

The fact sheets include:

• Treatment schedules for different parasite groups
• Special considerations for various life stages, lifestyles, and household environments
• Risk group classifications to guide how often animals should be treated or tested
• Alternative monitoring options, such as faecal examinations

These updated tools make it easier for veterinary teams to implement targeted, sustainable worm control strategies that protect both animal and human health.
