Dr Anders Permin (DVM, PhD, MBA) studied veterinary medicine at the University of Copenhagen, graduating in 1990.  He has more than 20 years’ experience as a veterinarian within the area of life sciences and has practiced in Denmark, Zambia and Tanzania. He also has over 10 years’ experience within pre-clinical safety in the biopharmaceutical industry.

He is currently CEO of Værløse Dyreklinik IVS (a general practice clinic in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen) and also of Unibrains IVS.

Anders has extensive experience with infectious diseases (bacterial, viral, and parasitic) and a PhD from the University of Copenhagen specialising in microbiology and pathology. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed publications and over 100 articles in internationally recognised journals. He is a censor at the University of Copenhagen within the departments of food science, parasitology, microbiology and toxicology and is a freelance journalist for the Journal of the Danish Veterinary Association.

Anders is Chairman of the Bioscience group of the Danish Veterinary Association (www.ddd.dk) and a member of the executive board of DDD. He is also a member of the FAO Network for Helminthology in Africa, the FAO established veterinary biotechnology & epidemiology network for Central and Eastern Europe (CENTAUR), the Danish Society for Parasitology, the Scandinavian Society for Parasitology and the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology.

ESCCAP Denmark works  to raise awareness of the threat from parasites and to provide locally relevant information and advice. An associate member living in Norway has joined the ESCCAP Denmark group and will provide additional local information and guidance from Norway.
