Dr Éva Fok graduated from the University of Veterinary Science in Budapest in 1976.  She pursued postgraduate studies both in Hungary and the United Kingdom, earning a PhD from Semmelweis University in Budapest on the pathogenesis, pathomechanism, chemotherapy and prevention of larval toxocarosis.

Dr. Fok began her veterinary career at the Animal Hospital in Gyöngyös, Hungary, and later worked with the Hungarian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Budapest and Fót.  She subsequently joined the Helminthological Research Laboratory at the Department of Parasitology and Zoology, University of Veterinary Science, Budapest.

As a senior researcher at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Budapest, Dr. Fok carried out research on helminthology and lectured in parasitology.  Her primary areas of expertise included larval toxocarosis, dirofilariosis, helminth parasites in companion animals and parasitic diseases of carnivores — particularly dogs and cats.

Although now retired, Dr. Fok remains active in the professional community and continues to deliver lectures on veterinary parasitology.

She is a member of the Society of Hungarian Parasitologists, the Hungarian Society of Zoonoses, the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP) and the European Dirofilaria Society (EDiS).
