Ezio Ferroglio qualified in veterinary medicine at the University of Turin in 1992.  He then gained his PhD in “Epidemiology and control of zoonosis” at the University of Bologna in 1997.

He currently works as a Full Professor of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases at the Department of Animal Production, Epidemiology & Ecology, div. Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases, University of Turin, Italy.

Since 1999 he has been involved in more than 55 research projects relating to the diagnosis, epidemiology and pathogenesis of parasites and wildlife diseases of public health interest and regularly holds seminars on these topics.

He became a member of the European Veterinary Parasitology College in September 2003 and the European College of Veterinary Public Health in July 2005.

He has also published many scientific papers including papers on Neospora caninumLeishmania infantum, several nematode species and on the mutual transmission of pathogens between wild and domestic animals.
