Professor Hany Elsheikha is a leading expert in veterinary parasitology and Chair of Interdisciplinary Parasitology at the University of Nottingham. A Diplomate of the European Veterinary Parasitology College, he is internationally recognised for his ground-breaking research on host–parasite interactions and the development of novel antiparasitic therapies.

He is also a pioneer in applying photonics and spectroscopic technologies to parasitology, advancing non-invasive diagnostics and real-time parasite detection. His innovative approaches have opened new frontiers in understanding parasite biology and improving disease control.

Professor Elsheikha has authored or edited nine influential books, including three of the top-selling titles in parasitology, published over 400 articles and continues to shape global understanding of parasitic diseases with significant public health relevance.
